A playwright-activist, Binay Dutta, rehearses a new play with Adivasi comrades resisting corporate capture of their forested hills. As he reads, the audience enters a layered narrative on Chaitanya—his mystical birth links across Sufi, Hindu, and Christian traditions, his rational youth in Navadwip, and his evolution into a humanist beyond caste and religion. As state forces arrive to arrest Binay, Maoists offer to protect him, but he refuses violence, affirming the Constitution. The play ends unresolved, echoing Chaitanya’s eternal humanistic quest.
