A thirsty Buddhist monk, Ananda, asks a low-caste girl, Prakriti, for water. Initially hesitant, she eventually gives him water and falls in love with him. But Ananda, bound by his vows and caste, cannot reciprocate. Prakriti’s mother tries to use magic to win Ananda’s love, but true love and self-realization prevail. In the end, Prakriti understands her worth and chooses the path of self-respect and dignity.
