Queen Sudarshana longs to see her king in the light, as he always meets her in darkness. During the spring festival, she mistakes the impostor Subarna for the king. In this land, since no one has truly seen the king, many claim to be him—even foreign rulers drawn by greed, causing wars. The play is both Sudarshana’s quest to find her true king and the people’s search for their real sovereign.
