Harimadhab Babu, an aging, irritable man, lives with his wife Komola, son Rana, daughter-in-law Juhi, and grandchildren Kaju and Tuli. His elder son was killed in political violence, leaving behind the kids. Peaceful life is shaken when local councilor Barun Pal, linked to his son’s murder, invites him to hoist the flag on Independence Day for money. Rana and Juhi urge him to accept, but Kaju resists. Through conflict, the family questions if true freedom is rituals or living with dignity.
